JUCO World Series field is set
Grand Junction’s biggest baseball week is here. The 2026 Alpine Bank NJCAA Division I JUCO World Series begins Saturday, May 23 at Suplizio Field, and all 10 teams are now set.

This year’s field includes Walters State, Harford, Blinn, Wabash Valley, Johnson County, LSU Eunice, Miami Dade, Seminole State, Midland, and Salt Lake.

A few teams come in with eye-popping records, including Johnson County at 62–3, Harford at 54–6, Walters State at 52–11, and Midland at 50–10.

Salt Lake also returns to Grand Junction as the defending national champion after winning the 2025 JUCO World Series with a 9–6 championship-game victory over Walters State.

Seminole State brings the most JUCO experience in the field with its 16th appearance, while LSU Eunice is making its first appearance in Grand Junction.

Tournament play runs May 23–30, giving Mesa County a full week of high-level baseball, visiting teams, and one of Grand Junction’s favorite annual traditions.

🎓 CMU Century Scholarship surpasses $10 million goal
Colorado Mesa University’s Century Scholarship has now raised more than $10 million, supported by 176 donors, to help open more doors for Mesa County students pursuing higher education. The scholarship was originally launched with a $5 million endowment goal, and the fund has continued growing during CMU’s centennial celebration.

🏢 Grand Junction Business Incubator keeps local startups growing
The Business Incubator Center in Grand Junction has helped launch 2,284 companies, with 86% still in business after five years. The Colorado Sun also reported that the center works with more than 1,000 existing small businesses and entrepreneurs in Mesa County each year.
