Issue #27 | SEPT. 6 - 13, 2026

Happy Monday, Mesa County!This week has a little bit of everything. Thursday brings Unity in Community and Market on Main downtown, Friday night has a big local football matchup with Grand Junction taking on Fruita Monument at Stocker Stadium, and One Night in Memphis brings the music of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins to Asteria Theatre. Then Saturday really takes off with Tour of the Moon, the Fruita Farmers Market, live music, comedy, a card show, fundraisers and plenty more happening around the valley We’ve also got some genuinely good local news this week, including new covered parking, solar power and EV charging at the Grand Junction airport, plus some encouraging gains from District 51 schools. From the Mesa County Fantasy Faire and Junction Truck Fest to live music, First Friday, the Symphony, farmers markets and more, this is one of those weekends where there’s no excuse to say there’s nothing going on around here. Happy Monday Mesa County! This is one of those weeks where Mesa County gives us a little bit of everything. CMU football is back under the lights, Ty Myers is coming to The Amp, Fruita has a full Friday night downtown, and Saturday is packed with live music, Supercross, movies, fundraisers and more. We also have a pretty cool piece of local history in this week’s Good News section, with plans underway to bring a full-scale Brachiosaurus cast to the Grand Junction Regional Airport. 👋 A Quick NoteThis is one of those weeks where there’s almost too much going on.Peach Fest takes over Palisade this weekend, Portugal. The Man comes to The Amp, and Saturday alone is packed with concerts, markets, food, wine and community events across Mesa County.Have a great week — and as always, get out there and enjoy where we live.

Happy Monday, Mesa County! A Once-in-a-Lifetime Weekend in Mesa County, There are some weeks when putting together Mesa County Digest feels like digging for things to do. This definitely wasn’t one of them. This week is packed — Alison Krauss & Union Station at The Amp, Little Feat at the Avalon, a free Minecraft movie under the stars in Glade Park, a cosplay quest taking over Main Street, a locally made vampire movie premiering at the Avalon, drag racing, live music, markets and a whole lot more. But my favorite little piece of Mesa County trivia this week might be happening in Palisade. Saturday is 8/15/26 — which matches Palisade’s 81526 ZIP code. That combination will obviously never happen again, so Palisade is leaning into it with Peach Days festivities, the Just Peachy 5K & 10K, a pancake breakfast and a special downtown parade. It also happens to be peach season, which makes this week’s Good News story especially fitting. A Grand Junction mother and son are continuing a four-year tradition of delivering boxes of Palisade peaches to Children’s Hospital Colorado and Brent’s Place — a tradition that began during her son’s own leukemia treatment. Those are the kinds of stories I want Mesa County Digest to keep finding: not just what’s happening, but the weird, fun and genuinely good things that make this place feel like home. Trace Adkins brings his 30th Anniversary Tour to The Amp, Grand Valley Food Truck Friday returns to Lincoln Park, and the DFWC Back 2 School Bash takes over Imondi Wake Zone. You’ll also find outdoor movies, farmers markets, concerts, comedy, family activities, and a special Golf for a Good Cause section featuring upcoming tournaments benefiting local schools, teams, scholarships, and nonprofits.
